Hebrew Class Options
We offer multiple Hebrew learning pathways tailored to each student’s level and goals. Classes are designed to build skills in reading, writing, speaking and understanding Hebrew, with options offered before, during or after school — available at select schools across NSW.
Don't see your school listed? We’ve got you covered. If there’s enough interest, we can approach your school to establish a class. We also offer online private lessons and support for students studying Hebrew as a HSC subject, no matter if it's not available at your school.
We are the trusted in-school Hebrew provider for Rose Bay Secondary College and Killara High School.
What We Teach
Our new K–6 Hebrew program is designed to grow with students as they progress through each stage of learning. The curriculum focuses on building core skills in reading, writing, speaking and comprehension, using vocabulary that is relevant to students’ daily lives. For our High School cohort, where available, Hebrew is offered as an elective or integrated into SRE.
Beginners
Learn the Aleph-Bet, basic words and simple conversation.
Intermediate
Build reading skills, vocabulary and confidence speaking.
Advanced
Improve fluency, conversation and written expression, including HSC preparation.
Ready to Enrol?
BJE offers before and after school Hebrew classes at select schools. If there’s a location near you, your child is welcome to attend—regardless of which school they’re enrolled in.
Simply choose the closest school below to access the correct enrolment form. Each enrolment form outlines the level of Hebrew being offered but classes are designed to support most individuals’ skill level. It’s quick and easy to get started.

Interested in HSC Modern or Classical Hebrew ?
If you’re considering Hebrew for Year 11 or 12, please contact our Head of Jewish Life, Ronnen, as early as possible.
With enough interest, we can arrange qualified teaching, resources and support to help students meet NESA requirements and succeed in their studies.
Offering Bar/Bat Mitzvah Preparation
BJE supports Hebrew reading and comprehension necessary for Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation, with customised sessions that include:
- Torah and Haftarah reading
- Blessings and prayers
- Speech preparation with relevant Hebrew content
